Hi, I’m Jess! I am an interdisciplinary artist in Minneapolis, MN. My raw materials are tangible textile products representative of the domestic space and gender roles of Midwestern America. I reimagine these objects by flattening, manipulating, and layering them together until they lose their function and move freely in their simplified forms of shape, color, and texture.I queer the domestic space by reimagining its indexical objects and textiles, disrupting the order of reality and re-arranging its pieces into a space led by desire. I take functional objects from the domestic world and release them into a dimension where they have no other function than to be in relation with each other.

Jess lives in Minneapolis, MN with her two children and their dogs, Sunny and Pip. She is a member of Embodied Material, and teaches high school art.
